March, 2013

March is here!  Spring will begin, officially anyway, in a couple of weeks, and we will celebrate Easter at the end of the month.  My fingers are still cold as I type this, but there are sights, sounds, and smells of spring in the air these days, and I can't help but be enthused! :)

This will be our last edition of WoW Connect! for this season.  But please check back throughout the summer and early fall to make sure you don't miss out on any announcements for events or Bible studies.

You won't want to miss Julie's interview with the lovely mother-daughter duo, Marilyn Johnson and Julie Lewan in our Life Stories column.  My devotional for this month, Forget the Shaking Finger, can be found in the At His Feet Column.  Check out the other tabs above and archived columns on the right side of this page for more information and articles.

Happy Resurrection Day, all!

February, 2013

Hello, friends!

We are another month closer to spring!  We at WoW Connect! are here to encourage you to choose joy during these sometimes-rough winter months.  Spring always follows winter, so keep that in mind as you try to keep your fingers and toes warm!  Joy is warmth in our spirits, and it's always an option for every Christ-follower.  Sometimes it's hard to look beyond the circumstances of the "bleak midwinter" to the One who offers us joy and genuine warmth, but if we'll just make that choice, He has so much to bestow upon us! :)

Let's not live by our feelings, but by what we know to be true.  And let's know more of the Truth by continuing to read and study our Bibles!

This month's devotional, The Attainable Tame Tongue, can be found in the At His Feet column.  You will surely enjoy Julie's interview with Kay Bjurstrom in our Life Stories column.  Just click on these links or the above tabs.  Check out our archived columns on the right side of this page for lots of info and fun!

January, 2013

Happy New Year, ladies!  I'm sorry about the delay in posting this month, but unexpected circumstances have kept me from my editing/writing responsibilities for a time.  Maybe you've been so busy adjusting to Life After the Holidays that you didn't notice? :)

In any case, I hope with all my heart that each of you had an extra lovely time with Jesus at some point, celebrating His birthday with Him and allowing His love to warm your heart in preparation for a brand new year.  Whatever you are facing right now, a mountaintop or a valley, He is your constant Friend and worthy to be praised!

I sure did struggle through this month's devotional, The Lifeline, in our At His Feet column, but I hope you'll be encouraged in some way.  Julie's interview with Heather Gingerich in the Life Stories column is sure to bring a smile to your face as you get to know another of our SGC ladies a little better.

Have a blessed 2013, everyone!

December, 2012

Merry Christmas, lovely ladies! :)

What an exciting time as we celebrate the birth of our precious Savior!  He is amazing!

If joy is hard for you to choose this holiday season and you are dealing with the common feelings of loneliness or depression, I encourage you to go to SGC's media page, then click on either Podcast or iTunes to listen to the recent messages on those topics.  Solid biblical wisdom makes all the difference!

And while you're here at WoW Connect!, take some time to unburden your heart while reading The Treasure of Surrender, my devotional this month in the At His Feet column, and get to know Tasha Berger by reading Julie Overholt's interview with her in the Life Stories column.

Be sure to return later this month and click on the Bible Studies column to see what exciting studies will be available for you to participate in starting in January.

Christmas blessings to you all!

November, 2012

Welcome, friends!  It's time for a new season of WoW Connect!.  We are here to encourage you through the next several long, cold months.  May you find joy, wisdom, and friendly faces here at WoW Connect!.

If you've been here before, you'll likely notice some changes this year.  WoW Connect! is now the central place for SGC ladies to find the WoW (Women of Worth) calendar, list of available Bible studies to attend, and SIG (Small Interest Groups) options.  The two additional columns this year are the devotional, At His Feet, and Life Stories, where we feature an interview with a different SGC lady each month.  To read your favorite columns from past years, just look to the right of the screen for "Archived Columns."  Lots of great information there to re-read or read for the first time!

You won't want to miss the video included in this month's devotional (you may want to have a tissue or two on hand, just in case), and definitely check out Julie Overholt's interview with Erin Baranic.

Happy Thanksgiving, sisters!  Choose joy!

May, 2012

This is our last "edition" of WoW Connect! for this season, and these past months seem to have flown by!

This month's topic is "Freedom," and we hope you enjoy the articles posted for May.  Our hope and prayer is that all Christ-followers will choose to walk in the freedom that is theirs through our Lord Jesus.  He has paid for it and offered it to us--let's not walk away from such a gift!

I did something a little different for the devotional, At His Feet, this month.  Jen definitely switched it up a bit in Coffee & a Book this time (you get three book reviews for the price of one!).  Diana had the chance to interview Stephanie Staires, and you can read their exchange in the Life Stories column.  Kay Bjurstrom has an excellent challenge for mothers in Mom to Mom, and Cindy helps balance our thinking with her inspiring and sound fitness advice in Fit for Him.

I would like to thank all of the writers for their participation in the 2011-2012 WoW Connect! season.  It has been an absolute joy to read, edit and post the articles God has put on their hearts.  Thank you, too, to all the readers who have given us such positive feedback and have let us know WoW Connect! has made an impact on you.  Many thanks to those who have prayed for this ministry to women.

Happy Summer, everyone!

April, 2012

Happy Easter, friends!  Spring is officially here, and the unusually warm March days were so cheery, weren't they?  Though it has cooled down a bit for a time, we know those warm, sunny days will be back.

As winter can't hold spring back forever, death and the tomb could not hold back our risen Savior!  He is alive forever and working in our lives in ways we don't even know or understand!  He is amazing!

Our topic for April is "Peace."  You will find this month's devotional in At His Feet, fitness motivation and a yummy-looking, healthy recipe in Fit for Him, and a great book review in Coffee and a Book.  Get to know the lovely Catherine Ware a little better in the Women of Worth: Life Stories column, and check out Mom to Mom if you'd like to be a more peaceful mother.  Use the tabs above to navigate your way to what you would like to read.

Enjoy the month of April!  Take time to take in the lovely sights and scents of spring.  Seek peace.
